Benjamin P. Davis

Benjamin P. Davis serves as Assistant Professor of Africana Studies and Hispanic Studies at Texas A&M University and holds a Fellowship at the Center on Modernity in Transition. Previously, he completed fellowships with the Department of African American Studies at Saint Louis University and the Centre for Ethics at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Davis earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Emory University in 2020.

His research operates at the intersection of race philosophy and legal theory, specializing in Caribbean Philosophy, Latin American Philosophy, Black Studies, International Law, Human Rights, Post-colonial Theory, and Critical Theory. He has developed curricula on ethics and human rights while lecturing across North America, Brazil, South Africa, and Italy.

Dr. Davis's publications demonstrate consistent focus on decolonial ethics and Caribbean philosophical traditions, analyzing thinkers like Du Bois, Arendt, Glissant, and Simone Weil through frameworks of human rights and critical race theory.
