Dr. Benjamin Myers is the Crouch-Mathis Professor of Literature and Director of the Great Books Honors Program at Oklahoma Baptist University. He holds a Ph.D. in English from Washington University in St. Louis, following an M.A. and B.A. from the same institution and University of the Ozarks respectively.
His research focuses on intersections between Christian orthodoxy and literary aesthetics, with notable works including poetry collections like Black Sunday: The Dust Bowl Sonnets and critical essays such as A Poetics of Orthodoxy. Myers has received the Oklahoma Poet Laureate title (2015-2016) and OBU's Promising Teacher Award (2009).
