Benjamin Mason is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Social Statistics and Demography at the University of Southampton, part of the School of Economic, Social and Political Sciences within the Faculty of Social Sciences. His primary role focuses on teaching undergraduate students in the social sciences, specializing in introductory quantitative methods and research methodologies. He currently coordinates, lectures, and tutors the first-year module RESM1002, titled 'Simple Liars, Damned Liars and Experts: the use of empirical research in social science', which introduces students to basic data analysis techniques and their applications in research, media, and public discourse. Additionally, he serves as Head of Teaching Programmes in SSD, a shared role with Peter Smith.
