Benjamin Jones

Benjamin Jones is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Podiatric Medicine at the University of Southampton. He serves as Module Lead for Chronic Conditions and Administration and Supply Pharmacology, and supports teaching in Principles of Podiatric Practice, Complex Clinical Management, and other health sciences courses. He also acts as Admissions Tutor for the BSc Podiatry programme.

• Clinical Background: 9 years NHS experience specializing in Acute and At-Risk Foot care, focusing on foot ulcer prevention and limb salvage in high-risk patients.
• Research: Focuses on applying Genomics/Genetics to Foot, Ankle, and Lower Limb (FALL) issues in podiatric medicine, with expertise in diabetes and peripheral vascular disease.

His Masters research evaluated computational tools for splicing genetics analysis using Synthesis Without Meta-Analysis (SWiM), emphasizing heterogeneous study design methodologies.

Teaching Contributions: Leads modules for podiatry students and teaches genetics/genomics to nursing and cardiac physiology students, advocating design thinking in healthcare problem-solving.
