Benjamin Geva

Dr. Benjamin Geva is a Professor of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Toronto. His work spans domestic and international commercial, financial, and banking law, with a focus on payment systems, digital currencies, and legal history. He has practiced law and served as part-time counsel with Torys LLP, contributing to the Payments and Cards Practice Group.

• Education: LLB (Hebrew University of Jerusalem, 1970), LLM (Harvard), SJD (Harvard), admitted to the Ontario Bar (1982).

His research explores payment and credit instruments, electronic banking, and legal history, including the evolution of financial systems. He has authored foundational texts on electronic funds transfer and international negotiable instruments.
