Benjamin Faude

Dr. Benjamin Faude is a Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Glasgow, School of Social and Political Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of Bamberg and has held academic positions at Newcastle University, LSE, WZB Berlin, UC Berkeley, Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Free University Berlin, and Charles University in Prague. His research focuses on institutional complexity in global governance, exploring how overlapping governance frameworks affect legitimacy and effectiveness. He is a member of the Global Policy North network and has published in leading journals such as International Studies Quarterly and Global Environmental Politics.

Education: PhD from University of Bamberg (Germany), prior teaching and research roles at multiple institutions across Europe and North America.

Research Interests: Global governance challenges (climate change, AI regulation, migration), institutional overlap dynamics, regime complexes, resilience in global trade systems, and normative legitimacy of governance structures.
