Benjamin Black

Benjamin Black is a Lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin and a Marketing Development Manager for Power Electronics Real-Time Test at National Instruments. He received his Ph.D. in 2007 from the George Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology.

• Research focuses on passive haptic robotics for teleoperation and FPGA-based high-speed control/simulation systems.
• Notable projects include FPGA-controlled micro-grid inverters, FEA-based permanent magnet synchronous machine simulations, and an FPGA-driven home brewery at NI Week 2012.
• Volunteer Executive Committee Member for Central Texas FIRST LEGO League, overseeing competitions for 1,500+ elementary students.
