Benjamin Abugri

Dr. Benjamin Abugri is a Professor of Finance at the School of Business, Southern Connecticut State University. He teaches Financial Management, Investments, International Finance, and Risk Management at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

• Ph.D. in International Business with a major in Finance (University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley)
• MPhil in Finance (Norwegian University of Science and Technology)
• B.A. (Honors) in Economics (University of Ghana)

His research focuses on Finance, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, and Emerging Markets, with publications in journals like Journal of International Financial Markets and International Review of Financial Analysis. Recent work examines board characteristics in Ghana and derivatives' role in U.S. banking.

Dr. Abugri has received multiple School of Business Research Grants and co-authored a textbook Essentials of Money, Banking and Financial Institutions. He has provided training on Risk Management and Basel Accords to financial institutions and collaborated with the Central Bank of Ghana.
