Ben Wilson is a Professor and Associate Director for Science and Research (interim) at the University of the Highlands and Islands' SAMS UHI Energy Innovation Team. He specializes in marine mammal ecology and the impacts of offshore industrial activities on marine life, focusing on energy infrastructure interactions. His work bridges biology, oceanography, and engineering to develop monitoring and mitigation tools for regulators and industries.
Research Expertise: Over 20 years studying marine mammals, fish, and birds in relation to offshore developments. Current focus includes wind, wave, tidal, and oil/gas infrastructure impacts. Leads energy-related research at UHI.
