Ben Shaw

Dr. Ben Shaw is a Senior Lecturer in Archaeology at ANU, specializing in Papua New Guinea's human history. Elected Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London, his research examines human adaptations from Late Pleistocene to historic periods.

Research explores:

• Prehistoric migration patterns
• Lapita cultural interactions
• Agricultural emergence

Recent publications analyze Papuan migrations, Lapita settlement frontiers, and Neolithic transitions in New Guinea highlands.
