About
Dr. Ben Greulich serves as Assistant Professor of Biology in Mercer University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, joining the faculty in 2023 after completing postdoctoral research at Duke University School of Medicine.
His academic credentials include:
- Postdoctoral Fellowship at Duke University School of Medicine
- Ph.D. in Cell, Molecular, and Cancer Biology from Indiana University – Bloomington
- B.S. in Biology from Indiana University – Bloomington
Research focuses on molecular oncology mechanisms, specifically how ETS and FOX transcription factor families interact to influence tumor progression, and the therapeutic implications of cell surface receptor shedding. His work bridges cancer genetics, signal transduction, and transcriptional regulation to identify novel treatment targets for prostate cancer.
Recent publications (2020-2023) demonstrate consistent focus on prostate cancer pathogenesis, with recurring themes of ERG transcription factor function, receptor shedding dynamics, and inhibitor development. The body of work integrates molecular biology, cancer genetics, and drug discovery methodologies across multiple high-impact journals.
Outside academia, Dr. Greulich actively engages in family gardening, board game design, sci-fi entertainment (particularly Marvel franchises), and creative pursuits including 3D printing and writing.
