Ben Fallen

Ben Fallen is a USDA Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University and a Research Geneticist with the USDA-ARS Soybean and Nitrogen Fixation Unit in Raleigh, NC. He also serves as an Assistant Professor in the Plant and Environmental Sciences Department at Clemson University. His research focuses on improving soybean production through genetic diversity, drought/flood tolerance, and enhanced seed traits. He has released multiple soybean cultivars and holds a patent for the Agustina Soybean variety.

Education: PhD in Plant Sciences (University of Tennessee, 2012), MS in Plant Sciences (University of Tennessee, 2009), and BS in Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences (Virginia Tech, 2006).

Research Interests: Incorporating wild soybean genetic resources, enhancing abiotic stress tolerance, improving seed composition (oil/protein), and advancing sustainable agriculture through collaborative efforts. His work addresses climate resilience and economic profitability for farmers.
