Ben Davidson is a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Union College, specializing in 19th- and 20th-century U.S. history. His research analyzes freedom through the lenses of race, family, and childhood during emancipation. His forthcoming book Freedom's Generation examines children's experiences during slavery's abolition.
Davidson's teaching covers U.S. history, Civil War, and emancipation studies. His 2023 publication in Civil War History explores childhood rights in emancipation processes. Additional research interests include banking, memory, and historical justice.
