About
Ben Cash is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Central Arkansas. He earned his Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Mississippi in 2000 and joined UCA in 2011. His research examines ecological interactions in subarctic wetland ecosystems.
Research focuses on:
- Predator-prey dynamics involving fish and amphibians
- Physiological adaptations of vertebrates to extreme environments
- Conservation ecology in boreal wetlands
Publications investigate how environmental factors and biological interactions influence survival and growth of amphibian species. Fieldwork conducted in the Hudson Bay Lowlands provides insights into ecosystem functioning in subarctic regions.
Dr. Cash teaches Endocrinology, Ecology, and Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy while maintaining an active research program involving undergraduate students.
