Begoña Regueiro Salgado

Begoña Regueiro Salgado is a Full Professor of Children's Literature and Literary Education at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of Complutense University of Madrid. She holds a PhD in Spanish Literature with European Doctorate Distinction and an Extraordinary Doctoral Award. Her academic journey includes roles at the Faculty of Philology (UCM), University for Seniors, and the Complutense Center for Teaching Spanish. She leads the ELLI research group (Literary Education and Children's Literature) since 2018 and has coordinated significant projects like the Digital Creative Writing repository (TROPOS).

Her research focuses on Spanish Romanticism, Silver Age literature, digital literature, and pedagogical approaches to literary education. Notable publications include *The Poetics of Second Romanticism* (2010), *Once Upon a Time: Recycling Paradigms in Children's Literature* (2023), and over 90 academic works. She directed the journal *Didáctica. Lengua y Literatura* from 2013–2018, enhancing its international recognition.

As a poet, she has authored six poetry collections and participated in 18 anthologies. Awards include literary prizes from the Community of Madrid (1997–1999) and recognition for her work in literary creation and education. Current projects explore intercultural links through traditional stories in post-digital societies and collaborations with Spain’s National Reading Competence Plan.

Her academic leadership includes coordinating the Humanities section at El Escorial Courses (2016–2019) and teaching units in Spanish Language and Literature didactics. She has led over a dozen research and innovation projects funded by entities like MICIINN, the Community of Madrid, and Google.
