Bedrettin Basuguy

Doç. Dr. Bedrettin Basuguy is an Associate Professor at the Department of Islamic History and Arts, Faculty of Islamic Sciences at Bingöl University. He holds a Ph.D. from Atatürk University (2016) with a thesis on the Ayyubid State during Al-Malik al-Salih Najm al-Din Ayyub. His academic career includes teaching positions since 2003 and research roles since 2011. Fluent in Farsi, English, and Arabic, his research focuses on Islamic history, particularly the Ayyubid Dynasty, medical developments in medieval Islamic societies, and Crusader-Ayyubid conflicts.

Recent projects include studies on Harran's historical significance and Ottoman cultural heritage preservation.

Grants & Projects: He led research on Bingöl's historical monuments (2017) and Ottoman cultural heritage (2021), and contributed to publishing projects like the translation of Şeyh Şemseddin-i Ahlati's Divan (2021-2022).
