Becca Grose

Dr Becca Grose is a Research Fellow in Ancient History at the School of Classics, University of St Andrews. She specializes in social and cultural history of Late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages, focusing on projects such as 'Land and Loyalty: The Politics of Land in the Later Roman World' (4th–6th c.). Her research explores themes like textual erasure, funerary practices, and social networks in the Burgundian Kingdom.

Her work integrates interdisciplinary approaches, combining epigraphy, literary analysis, and archaeological evidence. Recent publications include edited volumes on erasure in late antiquity and chapters on Burgundian social dynamics and moral communities.

Dr Grose collaborates with international scholars and has conducted research visits at institutions like the Université de Poitiers and Eberhard-Karls Universität Tübingen. Her research bridges historical methodologies with cultural studies, emphasizing the complexities of identity and power in late antique societies.
