Beatriz Kellogg

Beatriz Kellogg is a Senior Lecturer of Spanish in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of South Carolina, part of the College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches undergraduate Spanish language courses and focuses on Hispanic Culture. With 15 years of teaching experience in South Carolina, she also serves as Director of the Hispanic House on Campus and previously led the Spanish Study Abroad Program in Cádiz, Spain (2014).

• B.S. in Economics, Universidad Externado de Colombia (Bogotá, Colombia)
• Post Graduate Certification in International Trade, JICA (Tokyo, Japan)
• Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Spanish, University of South Carolina

Professional Background: Before academia, Kellogg spent 14 years in international business, including 6 years as an International Executive at Harsco Track Technologies (Columbia, SC). She transitioned to education in 1995, teaching in SC public schools and mentoring language teachers. She returned to her alma mater in 2000.

Roles and Initiatives: She integrates business contexts into Spanish language instruction and actively promotes cultural immersion through study abroad programs and the Hispanic House, a residential and cultural center for students.
