Beate Muschalla is a researcher and project coordinator in clinical psychology and psychotherapy at the Free University of Berlin. She holds a doctorate from the University of Potsdam, where she conducted research on workplace anxiety under Prof. Uwe Schaarschmidt. Her work bridges clinical practice and academic research, focusing on mental health in occupational settings. She has expertise in therapy studies for workplace-related anxieties and emphasizes practical applications of research to improve reintegration programs and workplace policies.
Education: She studied ethnology and psychology at the Free University of Berlin (B.Sc./M.Sc.), followed by a doctorate at the University of Potsdam (2006–2008). She also completed a four-year psychotherapy training program.
Research Interests: Her work centers on addressing mental health challenges in professional environments, advocating for inclusive workplaces that accommodate diverse abilities. She critiques societal expectations of 'stress-resistant' employees and promotes evidence-based interventions to reduce workplace-related mental health issues.
Current Role: Since 2015, she has coordinated projects at the Free University of Berlin and supports the German Federal Pension Insurance as a senior psychologist. Her recommendations include practical thesis applications and interdisciplinary collaboration between academia and industry.
