Dr. Bassey Ebenso is an Associate Professor of International Health at the School of Medicine, University of Leeds. With over 30 years of global health experience, he focuses on health systems strengthening, digital health technologies, and community engagement in Africa, South Asia, and the Western Pacific. His research has influenced global policies, including stigma-reduction interventions and digital health strategies for palliative care in low-resource settings.
He holds a PhD in Sociology (Leeds), MPH (Leeds), and MB BCh (University of Calabar, Nigeria). His teaching spans global health topics, including health systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and health policy.
- Research Interests: One-Health approaches, realist methods, health workforce capacity, and health-related stigmatization.
- Grants: Total funding exceeds £15 million from UKRI, EU, WHO, and others, including projects on digital health in palliative care and urban health systems in Bangladesh, Ghana, Nepal, and Nigeria.
