Bartomeu Coll Vicens

Bartomeu Coll Vicens is a Full Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) in the Department of Applied Mathematics since 2007. He serves as Director of the Institute for Computational Applications of Community Code (IAC3) and Vice-president of the national network Math-In (Mathematics-Industry). His research focuses on Mathematical Processing of Digital Images and the Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, with over 50 publications and 3 patents. He has participated in international congresses and workshops, including visiting professorships at CRM (UAB), ENS Cachan, and institutions in France and China.

Research highlights include principal investigator roles in national projects (Ministry of Education and Science) since 1992 and collaborations with the French CNES (2006–2016). He has co-directed 6 PhD theses and served as editor for SIIMS (2014–2018), SCM, and IPOL. His affiliations include research groups Dynamical Systems (SSDD) and Mathematics, Imaging and Learning (MIA).
