Bart van Wees is a Professor of Physics of Nanodevices at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials within the University of Groningen since 2000. His research focuses on spintronics, quantum transport, and magnon dynamics in two-dimensional materials and van der Waals heterostructures. He has pioneered studies in spin caloritronics and graphene spin transport, advancing applications in quantum computing and low-power electronics.
