Barry Molloy is Associate Professor in UCD's School of Archaeology. He holds a PhD from UCD and specializes in European Bronze/Iron Age archaeology, with expertise in conflict studies, metallurgy, and societal collapse. Molloy directs ERC-funded research on the Late Bronze Age crisis (1200 BC) across southeast Europe.
Research integrates archaeological science, experimental archaeology, and landscape studies to examine warfare, craft production, and resilience. Current fieldwork includes excavations at Gradište Iđoš mega-fort in Serbia. Publications explore material culture, social complexity, and cross-cultural interactions.
