Barry Cavin

Barry Cavin is a Professor at the Bower School of Music & the Arts at Florida Gulf Coast University. With a career spanning decades, he focuses on directing and designing stage works, having produced over 40 plays and numerous original conceptual pieces like Wooden Mouth and The Living Blog: Apocalypse. He also directs student productions such as Paler Than Grass and Orphan Bunko, alongside classic and contemporary plays including Agamemnon, Exit the King, and Woyzeck.

His professional experience includes roles as a theatre artistic administrator and educator. At FGCU, he prioritizes fostering new theatre knowledge and building community engagement in Southwest Florida. Cavin’s work bridges traditional and innovative theatrical practices, emphasizing creativity and collaboration.
