Maria Antonia Barcelo Rado is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Girona, where she has been a full professor since 2003. She obtained her Mathematics degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1995) and PhD in Mathematics from University of Girona (2001), with ANECA accreditation since 2018. Her academic activities include teaching statistics and econometrics at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, plus serving as a visiting professor at Pompeu Fabra University (2004-2005) and teaching collaborator at Open University of Catalonia since 2005.

Recent publications demonstrate her expertise in environmental health impacts (air pollution, heatwaves), statistical methodology (compositional regression, spatiotemporal modeling), and health policy analysis (vaccination inequities, chronic disease management). She maintains active collaborations with CIBERESP, CRES, and clinical research units in Barcelona and Girona.
