Barbora Hola is a Full Professor in Empirical Legal Studies of International Criminal Justice at the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She holds concurrent roles as Senior Researcher at the NSCR and Full Professor at the A-LAB and Empirical and Normative Studies. Her research focuses on transitional justice post-atrocities, including international criminal trials, sentencing, rehabilitation of war criminals, and the intergenerational legacies of punishment. She leads the Atrocity Legacies project funded by a VIDI grant.
