Barbara Wells Trautner

Barbara W. Trautner is Professor of Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine and Investigator at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center's Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety. She holds an MD from University of Virginia (1995) and PhD in clinical investigation from Baylor College of Medicine.

Research focuses on catheter-associated urinary tract infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and bacteriophage therapy for multidrug-resistant infections. Her clinical work informs evidence-based guidelines for UTIs.
