Barbara Vandendriessche is a theater director, set designer, and visual artist affiliated with LUCA School of Arts, where she teaches acting, text training, and staging. She has held roles as artistic director at Barre Weldaad and has collaborated extensively with theater companies across Flanders. Her work spans Greek tragedies, youth theater, and contemporary performances, alongside internationally recognized photographic and sculptural exhibitions.
Education: Master of Dramatic Arts from RITS, Brussels (1998). Further training in scenography at POPOK (2004). Teaching roles include Lemmens Drama (now LUCA School of Arts) since 2007 and Antwerp Conservatory since 2008. Her artistic practice explores vulnerability, emotional expression, and damaged forms in both theater and visual arts.
Awards include recognition for photography (2nd Prize De Morgen, 2017) and sculpture ('Still Life' first prize, 2019). Major exhibitions include 'Capturing the Emotional Body' (2018, Brussels), 'Corpo Realities' (2019, Budapest), and collaborations with galleries in London, Milan, and Glasgow.
