Prof. Barbara Scheck is a Professor for Entrepreneurship and Academic Director of the MBA General Management program at Munich Business School (MBS). She previously served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Hamburg and holds a PhD from Technical University Munich. Her research focuses on impact investing, social entrepreneurship financing, and impact assessment. She co-authored the book Impact Investing: Instruments, Mechanisms and Actors (2017) and developed the Social Reporting Standard for impact measurement.
Prof. Scheck advises the EU’s GECES subgroup on impact measurement and co-founded Volunteer Vision, an online corporate volunteering platform. She earned a Diplôme de Grande Ecole from the European School of Management and has held roles in the German Diplomatic Service and Allianz’s financial literacy project. Her work bridges academia and practice, emphasizing societal impact through innovative financing and reporting frameworks.
