Prof. Dr. Barbara Paech holds the chair of Software Engineering at Heidelberg University. Her research focuses on human-centered software engineering methods, particularly requirements engineering processes and quality assurance. She co-founded the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) and leads the RECARES initiative supporting digitization for social good organizations.
Awarded the 2025 REFSQ Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to requirements engineering research and practice.
