Barbara Kelley

Barbara Kelley is a Senior Lecturer Emerita in the Department of Communication at Santa Clara University's College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a B.A. in Social Science (psychology emphasis) from Santa Clara University and an M.A. in Journalism from Stanford University. Her professional career spans over 25 years as both a journalist and educator, with work published in major outlets including the Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, and Salon.com. Her research interests focus on women's issues, career development, and media writing. She co-authored the book Undecided (2011) and maintains blogs like j.linx on journalism's future. Awards include two national recognitions from Bay Area Parent. She teaches courses such as Advanced Journalism and Journalism Capstone. Kelley actively engages in public speaking on women's career challenges and maintains collaborative projects with her daughter Shannon Kelley.
