Barbara DA ROIT

Barbara DA ROIT is a Full Professor at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage. She holds the position of President of the Ethics Commission and has been actively involved in teaching and research since 2005. Her work focuses on comparative welfare systems, long-term care policies, and intergenerational relations, employing mixed-methods approaches. She has taught sociological theories and social policy at various universities, including Utrecht and Amsterdam.

• Education: PhD in Sociology (Science-Po Paris) and Urban and Local European Studies (University of Milan-Bicocca).
• Research Interests: European welfare systems, care economies, aging populations, and policy analysis.

Her research has explored cash-for-care schemes, migrant care workers, and the impact of austerity on social policies. She has coordinated international projects like LeTs-Care and contributed to publications in journals such as Sociology and Autonomie Locali e Servizi Sociali. She is a peer reviewer for numerous national and international agencies.

Teaching responsibilities include courses on sociological theories, welfare systems, and research methodologies across multiple degree programs. She has supervised numerous graduate and doctoral students.
