Barbara D'Entremont is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of New Brunswick's Fredericton campus. She holds a PhD and conducts research focused on developmental psychology, particularly in autism spectrum disorders.
Her research interests include:
- Social-cognitive development in infants and preschoolers, examining how children understand psychological states and apply this knowledge in communication. This involves studies on joint attention, theory of mind, imitation, play, and inhibitory control in both neurotypical children and those with autism.
- Efficacy of community-based early interventions for autistic preschoolers, including interventionist training, treatment fidelity, and program effectiveness.
