Barbara Benz serves as Professor of Agricultural Economics and Deputy Director of the Institute for Applied Agricultural Research (IAAF) at Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU), concurrently holding the position of Head of Research & Development at KRAIBURG Elastik GmbH since March 1, 2012.

Education:

• Studied Agricultural Biology at the University of Hohenheim
• Completed Promotion (PhD) on "Elastic coverings for concrete slatted floors in cubicle barns"

Research Focus: Her expertise spans agricultural economics and practical livestock management, with specialized investigations into claw health in cattle and engineered floor coverings for horses, cattle, and pigs. She integrates agricultural engineering principles to address sustainability challenges in animal husbandry through applied research at the IAAF.
