Barbara A. Ganson

Dr. Barbara A. Ganson is a Professor of History at Florida Atlantic University. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and is a leading scholar in aviation history, with expertise in women's roles in early flight and Texas aviation development.

Her research explores:

• Pioneering women pilots
• Early aviation in the United States and globally
• Texas flight history

She authored Texas Takes Wing: A Century of Flight in the Lone Star State (2014) and is completing Lady Daredevils: American Women and Early Aviation (scheduled for 2026 publication).
