Azza Rajhi is a PhD student in design at the PROJEKT laboratory (EA 7447) at the University of Nîmes, supervised by Michela Deni (Professor of Semiotics) and Imen Ben Youssef Zorgati (Professor at University of La Manouba, Tunisia). Concurrently, she serves as Head of Experimentation at the UNDP’s Accelerator Lab Tunisia, deploying creative prototyping tools to test innovative solutions. Her research focuses on user participation in public service improvement, leveraging ethnographic methods like video, photography, and sketching to explore power dynamics in design processes and designer-user collaboration.
Prior to her PhD, Azza taught design for 10 years at the École Supérieure des Sciences et Technologies du Design in Tunis, after working in graphic design and advertising. Her work emphasizes designing intermediary objects to foster dialogue between stakeholders and users, aligning with social innovation principles. She is affiliated with the PROJEKT research team, specializing in design epistemology, ethics, and social vulnerability studies.
