Azusa Tojo is an Instructor of Japanese at the University of Idaho's College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences, affiliated with the School of Global Studies. She holds an M.A. in Linguistics Studies from Syracuse University (2020), where her thesis investigated cross-linguistic transfer in L2 spatial concept acquisition, and a B.A. in Sociology from Sophia University, Tokyo (2005).
Her academic interests include Japanese language pedagogy, spatial linguistics, and second language acquisition. She teaches courses across all proficiency levels, from JAPN 101-102 (Elementary Japanese) to JAPN 301/303 (Advanced Japanese).
