About
Azadeh Pourmalek is a Lecturer in Decision Making and Risk Management at the CBL School of Management. Her research focuses on reservoir modeling, CO2 geological storage in saline aquifers and depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs, and fluid flow in porous media. She holds a PhD in Reservoir Engineering from an unlisted institution, an MSc in Petroleum and Environmental Technology from Coventry University, and an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Tehran.
Her work addresses structural and stratigraphic trapping mechanisms for secure CO2 storage, emphasizing the impact of depositional environments on storage capacity and security. She has contributed to studies on deformation bands in sandstones, mixed siliciclastic-carbonate systems, and temperature/salinity gradients affecting CO2 injection in aquifers.
Pourmalek has organized academic events such as the 2018 UKCCS-FCS Workshop on CCS Development, reflecting her engagement with industrial and academic perspectives on carbon capture technologies.
