Ayşegül Metindoğan is an Assistant Professor at Boğaziçi University. She holds a PhD in Psychology from Syracuse University (2007) and has advanced degrees in Clinical Psychology and Marriage and Couple Therapy from Istanbul Bilgi University (2017) and Syracuse University (2001).
- Research Interests: Gender and sexuality, parenting styles, cognitive/social competence in children, role of fathers, Turkish child-rearing practices, moral/social development, and cross-cultural child development.
Her recent publications focus on cross-cultural sibling dynamics (2017), fathering practices in Turkey (2015), developmental psychology fundamentals (2014), trauma responses in children post-earthquake (2010), and mixed-age educational programs (2004).
