Aysegul Demir

Aysegul Demir is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wyoming's Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering, part of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Her work focuses on sustainable design, energy efficiency in buildings, and climate change mitigation strategies. She holds a Ph.D. in Building Energy & Environments from The University of Texas at Austin, an M.S. in Structural Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, and dual B.S. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Dokuz Eylul University, Turkey.

Research Interests: Dr. Demir's research emphasizes urban building energy modeling and the integration of renewable energy systems into building design. She explores methods to optimize building energy performance while addressing climate change impacts. Her work often intersects engineering, environmental science, and urban planning.
