Ayse Ozcan is a Lecturer at the Department of Linguistics within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She also holds affiliated lecturer positions at the European Union Center and the Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.
- Education: Ph.D. in Anthropology from Syracuse University
Her research explores intersections of culture, religion, migration, and identity through lenses of space/place and cinema. Recent publications analyze Muslim community dynamics in Europe and cultural identity crises in transnational literature.
Her academic work spans anthropological inquiry into secularism, postcolonial identity, and linguistic approaches to cultural narratives. She is associated with the Illinois Global Institute Center for Global Studies.
