Ayah Helal

Dr. Ayah Helal is a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at the School of Computing and Mathematics, Manchester Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Kent, where her thesis explored ant colony optimization (ACO) for stream learning, and an MSc in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo, focusing on optimization algorithms for QAP problems. Her research interests center on nature-inspired optimization techniques and explainable AI, particularly their application to enhance machine learning models for complex data structures. Currently, she collaborates with City Science to improve multi-modal transport modeling using AI-driven optimization methods.
