Axel Groha

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Groha serves as Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Professor at the Technical University of Ingolstadt (THI) since October 2019, with continuous service since 2009. He concurrently holds Senate membership and previously directed the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (2015-2019) as Dean and Vice Dean.

His academic foundation includes a doctorate in mechanical engineering (specializing in production engineering) and an electrical engineering degree (focusing on process control engineering), both earned at the Technical University of Munich (TU Munich).

Professor Groha's expertise bridges industrial practice and academic leadership, with research interests centered on Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Controlling, Production Engineering, and Restructuring. His career uniquely integrates executive industry experience with academic governance, particularly in engineering education management.

Prior to THI, he operated as a restructuring management consultant (2005-2009), held executive positions at Zwick Roell AG Ulm including Board Member and Managing Director (1993-2005), led departments at AEG Böblingen (1989-1993), and directed the Institute of Machine Tools and Industrial Management at TU Munich (1979-1989).
