About
Axel Eriksson is an Associate Professor and Docent in aerosol technology at the Department for Design Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Lund University, Sweden. He serves as a LINXS Fellow and coordinates Working Group 2 - Human Impact and Pollution within the Environment and Climate theme.
His research focuses on physicochemical characterization of aerosol particles, combining environmental science with advanced analytical techniques. Key methodologies include in-situ measurements of airborne particles, time-resolved X-ray analysis, field-deployable ED-XRF, and synchrotron-based in-situ XPS. These approaches address critical questions about pollution dynamics and human-environment interactions.
- Specializes in in-situ aerosol particle analysis
- Develops environmental monitoring techniques using X-ray technologies
- Coordinates interdisciplinary pollution research through LINXS
His work bridges materials characterization and climate science, emphasizing real-time measurement capabilities for environmental applications.
