Avril Lowe

Avril Lowe is a Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography at the Peninsula Medical School (Faculty of Health) within the University of Plymouth. She holds academic leadership roles including Module Lead for undergraduate programmes such as the BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography with Integrated Foundation Year and the BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography with Foundation Ultrasonography. Her teaching focuses on science fundamentals, imaging technology, and service quality improvement in diagnostic imaging.

• Teaching modules: Level 4 Science 1, Level 5 X-ray Systems, Level 6 Leadership and Project Management Skills, Level 6 Service and Quality Improvement Projects
• Coordinates undergraduate placements and acts as Link Tutor
• Personal Tutor for learners across all programme levels

Her professional interests span diagnostic imaging education, clinical leadership development, and optimizing healthcare service delivery through quality improvement initiatives. She actively contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through her educational and clinical work.
