Ava Shabnum Hasan

Ava Shabnum Hasan is an Associate Lecturer at Buckinghamshire New University since 2021. Prior to this role, she founded Mentally Well Schools, an organization delivering evidence-informed mental health programs and CPD training to schools globally. With 18 years of international school experience, she held roles as a SENDCo and Senior Leader in both state and independent primary schools. She has advanced training in mental health topics including mindfulness, trauma, attachment difficulties, and suicide prevention, alongside one year of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills training. Currently completing a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy in London, her research focuses on childhood trauma and adversity, emphasizing evidence-based mitigation strategies.
