Augusta Beech

Augusta Beech is a Researcher at The University of Manchester, affiliated with the Division of Immunology, Immunity to Infection and Respiratory Medicine. She holds an honorary role as Associate Clinical Research Leader and serves as Early Career Member Representative (Assembly 5: Airway diseases) for the European Respiratory Society (ERS). Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.

Dr. Beech earned a BSc in Human Physiology from the University of Leeds (2012–2016) and a PhD in Eosinophils in COPD from The University of Manchester (2018–2023). Her research focuses on COPD pathophysiology, eosinophil biology, and biomarker discovery, with a particular emphasis on airway inflammation and smoking-related impacts. She collaborates internationally on respiratory disease studies and has published extensively on topics such as exhaled nitric oxide, expiratory flow dynamics, and microbiome interactions in COPD.
