Audrey de Nazelle is a Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London's Centre for Environmental Policy, part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. She co-chairs the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) Policy Committee and leads Imperial's Network of Excellence on Air Quality (NExAir). Her research focuses on environmental policy, health behavior, transportation, and urban planning to create health-promoting urban environments.
Dr. de Nazelle holds a PhD and MS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Maîtrise in Mathematics from the University of Paris VI. She leads major EU projects like PASTA (Physical Activity through Sustainable Transport Approaches) and contributes to initiatives such as MAGIC (Managing Air for Green Inner Cities) and METAHIT (MRC-funded active travel projects). She supervises eight PhD students and teaches Pollution Management and Urban Sustainable Environments at the MSc level.
Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, including structured decision-making frameworks for air quality solutions and citizen-centric digital tools for promoting active travel. She has been recognized as one of the '50 Most Influential Female Scholars' by SuperScholar and collaborates globally on projects addressing air pollution, climate change, and urban health equity.
