Atma R. Sahu

Dr. Atma R. Sahu is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Coppin State University (Baltimore, MD). With over 30 years of experience, he specializes in applied mathematics, mathematics education, and cybersecurity engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from IIT Roorkee (1973) and a second Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Maryland (1984).

His work bridges theoretical applied mathematics with practical educational innovations, including developing online curricula and game-based instructional modules for computer science education.

Leadership & Service: He chairs Coppin State’s Department of Mathematics & Computer Science and serves on university-wide committees including Curriculum Standards, Faculty Recognition, and Scholarships.
