Dr. Athanasios Angelis-Dimakis is a Reader and Subject Area Lead for Chemical Engineering at the School of Applied Sciences, University of Huddersfield. He holds a PhD in Energy Planning from the National Technical University of Athens (2011) and has conducted postdoctoral research on eco-efficient technologies funded by the EU FP7 project ECOWATER. He joined the University of Huddersfield in 2016, advancing to Reader in 2022.
His research focuses on Industrial Ecology, Life Cycle Assessment, and Water Resources Management. Key projects include the H2020 AquaSPICE (2020-2023) and FRIETS (2021-2025), addressing sustainability in process industries and berry value chains. He leads a team of 5 PhD students, 2 Research Associates, and 4 undergraduate researchers.
He is affiliated with multiple research centers, including the Biorefinery Engineering and Bioprocessing Research Centre and the Centre for Sustainable Software Engineering. His work contributes to UN SDGs related to sustainable consumption and climate action.
